The End of Lokomotíva

Written by Lokomotíva Zvolen at 20:43 28/6-2023

Maybe some of you followed recent discussions in Patriotic Union thread. As you can see, some time passed since then, so I had enough time to think about everything that has been written, and every time I analyze the thing, I always come to the same conclusion: I haven't realized how annoying it must have been for other teams competing against me knowing my climbing team is too strong for certain divisions, but at the same time the highest I can get is 2nd division, and even that for a short time. Team TF recharges ever worsened this problem, and again at the same time I don't have enough money to build a squad for sprinting events that would grant me more points to stay in the best divisions. Now, after all those discussions I feel really stupid for playing the way I played, and I want to apologize to all the teams that feel I robbed them of their trophies.

It's really weird this roller coaster I have been on for a couple of recent weeks, because maybe one season ago I felt tired of OCM and was already thinking about a break, but then I wanted to give it another shot with a team TF recharge, and then it began to be fun again, and it all climaxed at the Race of the Minutemen. Those two jerseys - I thought about them as one of the greatest moments I ever experienced in this game. But then there was that discussion, and a real gloom came, so it was like I was hit with a baseball club at a birthday party.

Again, I don't think the whole situation with my team is something that can be rectified, at least not quickly in a case of a small one nation team, so I decided to try to get to 2nd division one last time to attend Two Pass Tour and Volta, spend those last TFs that I have, and then sell all the best riders except Gusto Drozd, who will retire in my team. Then I will remain in OCM just as a manager of Patriotic Union, and I will create all the stats at the end of each season as usual. It hurts a bit especially because I feel like the current team is another Golden Generation, they are just beginning to manifest their peak strength, so not the best timing to end, but as I said, I cannot celebrate any more successes without a really bad taste in my mouth - as it was now with Zyte GP.

I'm not saying goodbye, but I will say thank you to everybody who helped me in any way during the whole career, and who I had a lot of fun playing this game with, and once again I apologize if I lessened fun for anybody with my style of playing.

It seems like you are making a good decision for yourself at the moment. I love to see that.

  that easily. ;)

Lokomotíva Zvolen at 19:06 3/7-2023
So I´ve decided to stick with my announcement, I´m gonna quit after Volta. And after all - I had won a lot of things even before I had a strong team, so I can look at my cabinet with happiness anytime, and that´s important for me. I had a great time playing this. Amazing 9 years. :) Thanks for all your support once again! BTW, as I said, I´m not quitting completely. You´ll not get rid of me that e

Thank you for your comments, gyus, I didn´t expect so many positive responses. Anyway, I have been thinking about it some more. To be honest, I have been feeling this kind of disdain for some time now, and it all kinda snowballed. Maybe I´m too sensitive, but recently I decided to change a few things in my behavior in general, so thinking critically about my style of play may be a part of it. So I

If someone complains about your team being really strong it's their problem not yours, the game is about having fun and losing is part of it. Hope you stay ^-^

Team Orion 365 at 08:40 1/7-2023
I second what others have said here - leave when you want to stop, not when others wish their wins were easier in your absence.

Team Orion 365 at 08:39 1/7-2023
As someone who dropped down last season through sheer bad luck, I see no reason for you to leave. With recharges, its inevitable that you loose points and fall down, so will try to get them how you can.

Also, I have always admired one nation teams, and the loss of your superb squad would be a real blow to the Patriotic Union.

Yuri SuperTeam at 16:04 29/6-2023
...a break, do it beacuse you're tired of comepting, not because the others are tired of competing against you!
If you retire, how will the other teams enjoy the sweet taste of a hard fought victory?

Yuri SuperTeam at 16:02 29/6-2023
I won't read any of the comments on this article, I have no time.
All I want to say is: Can you tell me where are the rules on how to enjoy this game written? I can't see anywhere that we should only target the Top Division and the biggest prizes?
Pierre this is nonsense! If you are enjoying your challenge all you need to do is continue! You're not doing anything wrong!
  If you decide to take

The Great outdoors at 14:05 29/6-2023
As someone whose team participated in the RotM, please reconsider. Having just one speciality seems perfectly normal and not just for one nation teams. And with that comes some limitation on points. You’ll just need to get better, Cokol made 1st div with only cobblers :)

Navarone Cycling Team at 13:01 29/6-2023
I see nothing wrong with what you do, it is not like you deliberately drop to a much lower division to seal club on your way up, is only that you naturally drop while you recharge your riders, as fair as it gets. Of course it may suck to get caught on the short end of that stick too often, but I wouldn't bother: if you enjoy playing and competing this way, you should do it. It seems much more mild

Spliff cycling at 10:24 29/6-2023
Frankly, i think this is bullshit and you should continue as you see fit. I don't think going up against strong teams is detrimental. the teams that complain about your participation in div 4 tours could also drop down to div 6 / 7 if they think this is going to bring them more enjoyment.

Schiavi di Don at 10:13 29/6-2023
It is not annoying for teams to lose to you Pierre. You have built your team from scratch with a lot of limitations on yourself. Division 4 and Division 3 jerseys are not stealing from anyone. A lot of the ones you won are against very tough competition. You should be proud of yourself. And if you do manage to break into Division 2 or 1 eventually and score there, you will be even prouder!

Team Chili at 08:48 29/6-2023
We all have different goals in ocm. I am also impressed buy the One Nation teams and have flirted with the idea many seasons ago. How you guys do it? Impressive.

Why feel bad cos your climbing team is so strong? You can only race 6 riders per race.

My most valued trophies have come competing against the best.

I went to read thinking there was some controversy. Nah. I see nothing wrong. No need to retire or hibernate dude. Keep racing and playing. And contributing too. Enjoy the TdF and don't hang up the wheels.

Holwerda Cycling at 22:20 28/6-2023
As others I would really like you to keep playing with the squad you have been working so hard for.
Everybody in OCM has their own goals and their own way to reach their goals.

mapei bianchi at 22:10 28/6-2023
Let me tell you, no one, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE would've skipped it out of fair play.
Please rethink, it would be a loss for the community.

mapei bianchi at 22:08 28/6-2023
You recharged your riders for ~27 days and had few races(probably practice low) leading up to Norway. That's almost half of the season without the best riders. In Norway you had a mediocre tour. It happens. You find yourself in div. 4 for Minutemen...

Silenzio at 21:38 28/6-2023
You have beaten far more experienced teams in Minutemen and the likes. No reason to feel ashamed. One of the best managers out there. Probably if it wasnt for the 100% slovakian sentiment you would Rank higher. But hey everybody his Cup of Tea.
